Painting Nova Scotia

University of Kentucky Emeritus Professor of Art Joseph Fitzpatrick and the Kentucky Watercolor Society invite you to a landscape painting workshop on the shore of Hubbards, on St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia, September 3-9, 2008. Dauphinee Inn is centrally located, just thirty miles from Halifax, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. Chester and the beautiful Aspotogan Peninsula are even closer.
Dauphinee Inn offers six antique furnished rooms; interested participants are encouraged to contact the inn directly to reserve their accomodations. Should there be need for additional rooms, the Dauphinee Inn innkeeper will arrange for nearby lodging. The Inn's seaside dining room was chosen "Restaurant of the Year" by the Taste of Nova Scotia, and it offers the freshest of local seafood, specializing in lobsters and seafood chowder.
Lobster suppers will be available at the Shore Club near the Dauphinee Inn.
Workshop cost: $650
Particulars
The cost of $650 includes tuition for daily professional
instruction, evening critique and a voluntary contribution to the
Kentucky Watercolor Society.
Limited to fifteen (15) painters. Non-painting companions may join
the group. A deposit of $300 will reserve your place. Final payment
of $350 will be due July 1, 2008. A full refund less a $30 handling
charge will be available until June 15. Travel insurance is
recommended to insure against cancellation, accident, trip
interruption or baggage loss.
Lodging
Participants are advised to contact Dauphinee Inn to reserve rooms at the Inn. Standard rooms offer queen size bed, private bath, and a shared deck. Rooms with a water view are $125 plus tax per night; rooms without water view are $99 plus tax per night Deluxe rooms with private balcony overlooking the water, queen size bed, deluxe bath and double jacuzzi are $195 plus tax per night. All accomodations include continental breakfast.
